Riverhead Carnival

The 3rd Sevenoaks Scout Group Join the nation in mourning the passing of her majesty the queen beloved monarch and Patron of the Scouts. With this in mind and the fact that the Country will still be in a period of mourning we have taken the decision that this years carnival will be cancelled as a mark of respect. We hope that everyone will understand. We will be back in 2023.

Sunday 18 September 2022  Cancelled as a mark of respect.

The 3rd Riverhead & Dunton Green Scout Group organises and runs the Riverhead Carnival located on Chipstead Common, Witches Lane.

Admission is free.

With a variety of stalls on offer, the event encourages local voluntary and community groups and businesses to support their local community by holding a stall on the green.

The carnival opens at 12 noon and is supported with music throughout the event by the our own roadshow ending around 4pm.

Arena events take place throughout the afternoon, including the ever popular egg throwing event that was introduced to the area by the Scout group and now copied by many others.

Assorted activities are on offer and include many local organisations with side shows, games, bouncy castles, coconut shy, big slid, roundabouts, tombolas,  crafts,  etc. This year the scouts are running a Last Man Standing that can see families and friends get very competitive. This inflatable's profits are shared with the scouts, thanks to the generosity of Mr Bouncy Castle

Dog Show - members of the public can enter their family pet in the popular dog show. Any dog can enter (not only rescue dogs) with fun classes such as best trick or waggiest tail etc and due to the very generous and kind support of Sevenoaks Animal Feeds all proceeds go to the scouts with all fabulous prizes and generous goodie bags also kindly donated by them.
